Classes
There will be Four Classes:
Wing, Non-wing, Restrictor, and KidSprint.
They will be designated
W (Wing)
N (Non-wing)
R (Restrictor)
K (KidSprint) Kid Sprint specific rules can be found at www.kidwellracecars.com
Engine Rules
All 600c Classes will run engines with a 640cc maximum Bore and Stroke. 750 lbs minimum rule.
R-Class can run carbureted or fuel injected engines but, will be limited by ¾ inch restrictors.
KidSprint rules will use the Briggs World Formula rules as posted on the website.
An affiliated track may run a local class such as Stock 600, 250/270 Single or Sportsman.
These Local Option classes will not qualify for National Points Championships.
Wing Rules
No wing, shock or panhard /track bar cockpit adjusters in the R class.
R and W class wings must be within the outer edges of the tires as the racecars sits on the scales and behind the front edge of the front bumper and in front of the rear edge of the rear bumper.
K Class wing must be a minimum of 6 sq. ft. center foil measured from leading edge to trailing edge and side to side between sideboards. Sideboard dimensions are 40” long x 20” tall with 4” maximum drop below a straight edge laying from top or rear roll bar upper hoop to top of front roll cage upper hoop.
Wing construction is of aluminum with wood spars allowed.
No carbon fiber or fiberglass other than the leading edge of the center foil.
Tires
R and K Classes will run the NMMA Spec Right Rear Tire or a tire with a minimum durometer reading of 44.
W and N tire rules are open and allow grooving and sipeing.
Maxim tread width: 63” outside to outside of rear tires.
K class max tread width of 52” outside to outside of rear tires.
Chassis
R, N, and W Classes Wheelbase: 50” to 70” average C/C of front to rear axle.
K Class wheelbase is 50” +\- 2” per side.
Main Chassis rails (Main Perimeter Tubes and Cage hoops) min. Chromoly 1x.065 or Mild Steel CREW 1x.083. Appearance to resemble a Sprint Car.
Legible numbers on Wing Nose and Tail for easy scoring purposes.
Safety
For liability reasons the following are recommendations for affiliated tracks.
Five point driver restraint system with 3 year limit from punched build date (month and year).
One or two piece full coverage from neck to ankles uniform and gloves with a minimum SFI3.2-1 rating or greater and also recommend nomex underwear, socks and head sock.
Fuel tanks: Outer shell with SFI approved bladder or SFI rated Fuel cell (example: JAZ 3 gal. MaxFlow).
Full coverage competition helmet with one of 3 last Snell Ratings recommended.
It is highly recommended a form with the checklist of the DC-14 be used to inspect racecars by affiliated tracks.
